What is the difference between gravity feed and pressurized waste oil drains?
Gravity feed drains (S-330-WOD/G 30L, S-350-WOD/G 50L) collect oil passively into a height-adjustable 10L bowl, then you wheel the unit to storage and pour. The pressurized drain (S-368-WOD/PN, 68L total, 55L usable) uses 8 PSI (0.5 bar) compressed air to push collected oil through a 2 metre hose into storage drums. Faster and cleaner for busy workshops servicing multiple vehicles per day.
What fluids can I dispense with a bucket oil pump?
STAR bucket oil pumps are compatible with engine oils, transmission fluids, differential oils, gear oils and other heavier petroleum-based products. The pump materials (steel, aluminium, zinc, brass, NBR, PVC) are designed for petroleum-based media. Do not use with water-based or corrosive fluids. For chemical transfer, use our stainless steel barrel pumps.
What drum sizes do bucket oil pumps fit?
Our oil lube dispensers are available for 12, 16, 20, 30 and 60 litre drums. Pump assemblies: S-OFP-20 (20L, 18 inch tube) and S-OFP-60 (60L, 30 inch tube). Complete with drum: S-312-OP (12L) and S-316-OP (16L). With wheels: S-312T-OP, S-316T-OP and S-330T-OP. All deliver 60 ml per stroke.
How do I maintain a waste oil drain?
Empty the waste oil drain regularly to prevent overflow. Clean the collection bowl after each use to prevent sludge buildup. Check the castors periodically for smooth rolling. On pressurized models, inspect the air seal and hose connections for leaks. Store with the bowl in the lowered position to prevent accidental tipping.
